Apple Design Speaker meets Boston Acoustics

'tuning a computer speaker'

The Apple Design II is a pretty good computer speaker out of the box (as far as computer speakers go). With a single, but nice 2.5" FR driver, the extreme lows and the highs just aren't there.

A pair of small Boston Acoustic car audio tweeters salvaged from an otherwise dead pair of speakers adds sparkle to the top. XO is a 2.2 uF cap (the stock one was 3.3).

The amp was removed, 4 mm jacks added, a little dampening (including some in the port), a little puzzlecoat, some duct-seal, and real wire.

They worked out pretty well. Matched with a used receiver they are serving duty on Ajay's computer.
