Push-Push Dipole
Concept Anytime you have two drivers, Push-Push loading should be given serious consideration. The forces of the two drivers moving effectively cancel each other producing no load on the cabinet structure. The illustration on the left was my 1st concept of this for a fellow with ALOT of 6 1/2" drivers in his basement. Below is the basic topology. This loading gives all the advantages of push-push loading and conserves space in the dipole (ie more drivers to move more air). The wings can be any appropriate shape, and for bass use could face either way. The 'jog' also acts as a built-in support so that the baffle stands up on its own. Also if the woofers are vented it can be used to eliminate the vents or to put a small damping box in-between the magnets.
