My Home Theatre

This is setup in the bedroom. All the speakers and power-amps are just what happened to be not in use elsewhere. New mains, surrounds and subwoofer (using the underside of the built-in bed) are in the works.

Electronics (above from top to bottom)

  • Sony SLV-678HF VHS cassette deck
  • Technics SH-AC500D DD/DTS Digital Surround Processor
  • Denon DVD-2500 disc player
  • NAD 7020 (preamp for the cassette deck and power for the surrounds). Mods by dbk
  • Linn PowerTek (50+50) for the Fronts

Subwoofer (left)

  • Shiva in a 1.7 cu ft sealed enclosure. Note the floor/ceiling loading (lots of room gain)
  • NAD 2140 (40+40) power amp. One channel per coil

Mains + Video (below)

  • Royd SEVENs (now B&W DM302s)
  • Sony 20" Trinitron

Surrounds are embarrasing but they work -- Radio Shack un-powered computer speakers -- heavily modified. They cost $10 CDN.
